Pharmaceutical Data Analyst and Modeler
Located in Emeryville, California, OnPoint Analytics, Inc. We specialize in matters involving antitrust, intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, risk valuation, class certification, options and other traded contracts, and complex damage estimation. Our practices cover a broad range of industries, including financial services, securities, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance, agricultural and food industries, high-tech manufacturing, mining, construction and retail services.
OnPoint is looking for a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Data Analyst and Modeler to support its practice in pharmaceutical and other healthcare litigation. Both job title and compensation are flexible to match the experience and credentials of the successful applicant. Essential skills include in-depth knowledge of the major pharmaceutical data sources and their variables (focusing principally on development, promotion, pricing, and sales of prescription drug products and devices); ability to interpret medical and industry literature to assess which drugs most directly compete against each other and why; and proficiency in interpreting pharma financial statements at a corporate and product level. Appropriate experience will include either:
- A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Economics (or broader Healthcare or Economics disciplines with appropriate pharma experience), or
- Extensive experience working directly in the pharmaceutical industry in data or data-related positions.
This position is available immediately. The compensation package includes numerous add-ons and the potential for significant annual bonuses. It also includes the benefit of working in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area!
Responsibilities and Requirements
The qualified candidate will need to have both a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and excellent data management and coding skills (SAS and/or STATA). The analytical demands of the job are extremely high, and work must be careful and precise. Strong writing skills are a major plus, as most of our work ultimately takes the form of written reports. The Company depends upon a team culture where tight deadlines are common, so bottomless energy and a good sense of humor are also important tools. There are also opportunities for co-authorships in academic journals and other publications.
