Dr. Rachael Goodhue is Department Chair and Professor of the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis. Her fields of interest include industrial organization, competition in agricultural markets, agricultural marketing and organization, contracting, agricultural and agri-environmental regulation and policy, pesticide use and regulation, and property rights. Dr. Goodhue has published over 30 refereed journal articles in leading academic journals including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and the Review of Industrial Organization, and has written more than 10 book chapters. She has served as Associate Editor for the American Journal of Agricultural EconomicsAgricultural Economics and the Journal of Industrial Organization Education, and on the editorial boards of the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics and the Review of Industrial Organization.

In her consulting work, Dr. Goodhue has produced technical reports to government agencies, including the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, and has advised the State of California’s Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation on workers’ compensation insurance. Dr. Goodhue has been an invited speaker at a panel on competition in U.S. agriculture held jointly by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and has spoken at national industry meetings about agricultural competition and California agriculture.
