Dr. Jill McCluskey is a Distinguished Professor of Sustainability and Associate Director of the School of Economic Sciences at Washington State University. Her fields of interest include industrial organization, environmental and resource economics, economics of the media, consumer economics, new technology, agricultural economics and sports economics. Dr. McCluskey has published over 70 refereed journal articles, around 10 book chapters and has been the recipient of $2.3 million in research grants. The chapter she authored in Economics of Regulation of Agricultural Biotechnologies earned the American Agricultural Economics Association Quality of Communication Award. She has edited the Journal of Industrial Organization Education, the Journal of Wine Economics, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and World Economy. Between 2005 and 2008 she was the elected Director of the American Agricultural Economics Association, and she is an evaluator for the World Bank, the USDA and the National Science Foundation.

Dr. McCluskey’s consulting work includes biotechnology economics, worker’s compensation insurance, economic impacts of industrial accidents and environmental contamination, and effects of environmental stigma on property values. Dr. McCluskey has also provided legislative testimony before the Washington State Senate Committee on Economic Development, Trade & Management.
