Dr. Theo Ndatimana is the Director of Pharmaceutical Analytics at OnPoint. He is a healthcare leader whose experience spans health insurance/managed care, hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, consulting, research, and academia. When the Affordable Care Act was enacted, Theo eased the transition and sought to optimize care for more than 1 million people covered by a Southern California-based Health Management Organization (HMO). He worked closely with Independent Physician Associations (IPAs), medical offices/clinics, local and retail chain pharmacies, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), hospitals, other insurers, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and State Departments of Health. Theo has also provided personalized/individual care to patients while working at one of the largest hospital systems in United States. Theo’s experience is not limited to the United States; he has worked in Japan studying that country’s healthcare system and helping local hospitals optimize their services and extend their geographical coverage. Prior to joining OnPoint, Theo worked at one of the “Big Four” accounting firms as a senior consulting pharmacist in the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice and as part of the Supply Chain & Manufacturing Operations team. There, he focused on advising and collaborating with healthcare providers (including hospitals), health plans, benefit managers, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and life sciences companies to make improvements in the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Theo is a native of Rwanda and a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He holds Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees.

When he is not working, Theo likes to spend time playing with his baby daughter. His go-to hobby has always been travel, and the exploration of different cultures, ways of life, and nature. Favorite sports include soccer, basketball, and American football.

Favorite thing about OnPoint: the opportunity to put clinical and supply chain knowledge to work in a whole new setting.
